Merge PDF files online for free

Combine several PDFs into one document, in the order you choose.

Combine invoices, chapters or supporting documents into a single PDF file. You choose the order of the files, and PDFRoll puts them together right in your browser, without uploading anything.

How it works

  1. Select or drop at least two PDF files.
  2. Reorder them with the arrows to set the final order.
  3. Click “Merge PDF” and download the combined document.

Frequently asked questions

How many files can I merge?

As many as you like, starting from two. The only limit is your device’s memory, since merging happens locally.

How do I change the order of the files?

After adding them, use the ◀ ▶ arrows under each file. They are merged from left to right.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Merging is done by your browser: your PDFs never leave your device.

Is the quality preserved?

Yes. Pages are copied as they are, without recompression: text and images stay identical.

Can I merge PDFs on my phone?

Yes, PDFRoll works in the browser on a phone or tablet: select your files, reorder them and download the merged PDF.

Can I keep only certain pages from each file?

Merging keeps every page. To choose pages or mix them across several files, use “Organize PDF”.

One of my PDFs is password-protected. What can I do?

First remove the protection with the “Unlock PDF” tool (you need to know the password), then start the merge.

Combine multiple PDFs in the order you want

Add at least two PDF files: each one appears as a thumbnail showing its position, page count and size. Move them with the ◀ ▶ arrows to set the final order, or remove a file added by mistake with ✕. The documents are then merged from left to right: all the pages of the first, then all the pages of the second, and so on.

The resulting PDF is called “merged.pdf”, and PDFRoll tells you how many files were combined and the total number of pages.

When should you merge PDFs?

  • Send a complete application as a single attachment: résumé and cover letter, loan application, rental application.
  • Gather a month’s or a year’s invoices or statements for your accountant.
  • Put together the chapters of a report or thesis written separately.
  • Combine several pages scanned one at a time into a single document.

Pages are copied as they are, without recompression: the text stays selectable and image quality doesn’t change.

Good to know before you merge

Merging keeps whole pages, in their original order. If you need to remove a page, move one into the middle of another document or mix pages from several files, use the “Organize PDF” tool instead: it shows all the pages of your PDFs in a single grid.

A password-protected file can’t be merged as is: PDFRoll will let you know. Remove the protection first with “Unlock PDF”. And if the combined document is too large to send by email, run it through “Compress PDF” afterwards.

Merging done on your device

Many merging sites upload your files to their servers. With PDFRoll, the files are combined by your browser: your contracts, pay slips or ID documents never leave your computer or phone, and there’s no account to create and no limit on the number of files.
