Keep a PDF copy of a web page, an online invoice or a saved email: upload the HTML file, choose the orientation and get an A4 PDF with real, selectable text.
How it works
- Save the web page (Ctrl + S) or choose an .html file.
- Choose the orientation.
- Click “Convert to PDF”.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste a web address directly?
No: for security reasons, the browser can't read another site. First save the page with Ctrl + S, then upload the .html file.
Are the page's scripts run?
No, they're removed for your security. Only the displayed content is converted.
Which files are accepted?
HTML pages with the .html and .htm extensions.
Why are some images or styles missing?
Images hosted on other sites may not display, and only styles written in the page itself are applied. Stylesheets saved separately aren't loaded.
Can I choose the page orientation?
Yes: “Portrait” or “Landscape”, on A4 pages.
Is the conversion free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark added to the PDF.
Are my files sent to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser: your documents never leave your device.
How to convert a web page to PDF
The tool converts an .html or .htm file stored on your device. For a web page, open it in your browser, press Ctrl + S, choose “Web page, complete”, then upload the resulting .html file. Next, choose “Portrait” or “Landscape” orientation and click “Convert to PDF”.
The content is laid out on A4 pages. Page breaks fall between two lines, never in the middle of a line of text or an image, and the PDF text can be selected, copied and searched.
What's kept and what may be missing
- The page's text, headings, lists, visible links and tables.
- Styles written in the page itself: colors, borders, backgrounds.
- Images, when the browser can display them.
For your security, scripts aren't run and embedded content (frames, objects) is removed: only the displayed content is converted. Stylesheets saved in separate files aren't loaded, and images hosted on other sites may be missing. The result may therefore look plainer than the original page. Fonts are replaced with equivalent standard fonts.
When should you use HTML to PDF?
- Archiving an invoice, a receipt or an order confirmation shown online.
- Keeping an article or a documentation page to read offline.
- Turning an email saved as HTML into a document you can attach.
- Converting an HTML page you created yourself, for example a report generated by software.
Your browser reads the file and it isn't sent to any server.
An alternative for complex pages
For a heavily styled page, your browser's “Print” function, with “Save as PDF” as the destination, often reproduces the exact look better. Once you have your PDF, you can shrink it with “Compress PDF” or keep only the pages you need with “Extract pages”.
