Convert PowerPoint to PDF online for free

Convert your PowerPoint presentations (PPTX) to PDF, one page per slide.

Share a presentation anyone can open, even without PowerPoint: each slide becomes a PDF page, with its text, images, shapes and tables.

How it works

  1. Select your .pptx file.
  2. Click “Convert to PDF”.
  3. Download the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Does it look exactly like PowerPoint?

Text, images, simple shapes, tables and backgrounds are carried over. Fonts are replaced with Helvetica, Times or Courier, and animations, gradients, charts and effects aren't reproduced.

Are old .ppt files accepted?

No: first save them as .pptx from PowerPoint or LibreOffice Impress.

What size are the PDF pages?

Each page has the dimensions of your presentation's slides, for example 16:9 or 4:3.

Can I copy text from the PDF?

Yes, the slide text is written as real text: you can select it, copy it and search it for a word.

Can I convert a presentation on my phone?

Yes, PDFRoll works in your phone's or tablet's browser, with no app to install.

Is the conversion free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark added to the PDF.

Are my files sent to a server?

No. Everything happens in your browser: your documents never leave your device.

One PDF page per slide

PDFRoll opens your .pptx file and redraws each slide on a page of the PDF, at the presentation's dimensions: a 16:9 presentation gives 16:9 pages. The slide order is kept.

What's carried over:

  • slide text, written as real text you can select and search;
  • images;
  • simple shapes;
  • tables;
  • slide backgrounds.

What isn't reproduced

The rendering is simplified compared with PowerPoint. Fonts are replaced with Helvetica, Times or Courier, which can slightly change the width of the text. Animations, gradients, charts and effects (shadows, reflections, 3D) aren't reproduced.

For a highly visual presentation where every detail counts, export it to PDF from PowerPoint with “Save As” instead. To share the content of a class, a meeting or a talk, PDFRoll's conversion is enough in most cases.

Tip: if a chart matters, copy it in PowerPoint as an image (right-click, “Paste as Picture”) before converting. Since an image is carried over as is, the chart will then appear in the PDF. Old .ppt files must first be saved as .pptx.

When should you convert a presentation to PDF?

  • Sending the slides from a class or meeting to attendees.
  • Uploading a talk to a platform that only accepts PDF.
  • Printing a presentation or reviewing it on a phone.
  • Sharing a file that can't be edited by mistake.

The conversion happens in your browser: your presentation is never sent to a server.

Other useful tools

If the resulting PDF is too large because of the images, shrink it with “Compress PDF”. To combine several presentations into a single file, use “Merge PDF”. And to get editable slides back from a PDF, use “PDF to PowerPoint”.
